firefox logs me into a particular site even though save passwords is turned off and none are listed as saved. this happens even after closing firefox and opening a new window. i logged in last week to this site, and opened it today and its still logged in.

Detail like websites remembering you and log you in automatically is stored in a cookie, so it looks that you are keeping cookies for this website.

You can test that by opening a New Private Window that uses a separate cookie jar.
