Not always, but frequently when I delete an email from an inbox, the other emails are hidden for awhile. This occurs whether I am pressing Del while the email is visible, or pressing Del with the email selected in the Inbox. If, however, I immediately open another folder and then re-open the inbox, all emails are instantly visible. Am I doing something wrong, or is this a "feature"?  ;-) Regards, Dave

Why won't Thunderbird send emails when connected to NordVPN? I have spoken to Spectrum and NordVPN and both of them have suggested that Thunderbird is the issue. I have confirmed that my SMTP settings are correct. I can send and receive from the Web client's site. I have turned off NordVPN and the sending process works as expected. However when I turn NordVPN back on, my outgoing emails are blocked.

Changed Gmail.com password and now Thunderbird will not login even with the new verified password. I have tried all recommendations on the internet and nothing works.

Is there a way to stop initial pop ups when opening FireFox? They slow productivity! I don't need to be reminded that I have new emails when I am already in Thunderbird.

Can't get out of offline mode. It happen once previous but an icon was available and got back on. Now going to settings and nothing works. Surprisingly found nothing with Google nor Mozilla support. No email; big problem.

The offline option does not give off or on but option that I don't understand.

The file at the top shows offline and there doesn't seem a way to change (no check mark).

The moderator, 10 years ago, said uncheck on life or two blue line. No such think.

Computer is connected to internet. Shut down MAC and restarted. Still OFFLINE. I must be online but cannot download my messages.

Exported address books and lists from 115.12.1 (32 bit) on W8.1, importing to 115.11.1 (64 bit) on W11.

Importing a named list into personal address book works - but the list itself is lost; they all go into one big address book. If I choose Create a new folder they all go into that - but again I've no list name, I can't write a message to the list like I used to be able to.

I can select New Mailing List, give it a name, but now I seem to have to enter each one individually, I see no way to paste in a list.

What am I doing wrong please?

Hi, I just reopened Thunderbird after my computer was shut down automatically after a Dell firmware update. I had 15 email tabs open before this -- things I wanted to go back to or that reminded me to do something. They are now empty! I have gone into Troubleshoot mode a couple of times and restarted Thunderbird. I've also checked the "remove addons (or something like that)" check box. No luck. Can someone out there help? I'm going to try restarting my computer now. Thanks!

I have a Windows 10 pc, which is current with all Microsoft and manufacturer (Lenovo) updates. Thunderbird won't run since the last update. It just gives a message saying, "Your computer must be restarted to complete a previous upgrade of Thunderbird. Do you want to reboot now?" After several reboots, I have given up. A support forum solution from 4 years ago recommends deleting a file (global-messages-db.sqlite) at a location (C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\8charstring.default) that seems not to exist (hidden?) on my pc. What do you suggest? Thanks.

I know this problem has been discussed extensively, but I can't fix it even after reading the previous posts.

I have an institutional email address that uses outlook.office365 server and mandatory two factor autentication. I had my Thunderbird setup with this, which suddenly stopped working one day on my office PC. I updated Thunderbird to the newest version, but the issue pertains. Currently I'm running Thunderbird 115.12.2. on a Windows 10 machine.

When I try to fetch my emails from this server, a popup window appears that asks for my institutional login credentials. When I enter them, a second window appears, asking for the two factor autentication. However, this window seems to be corrupt, as it does not contain any information, and and it's impossible to type in verification code, as there's no input area at all (see the first picture - note that I'm using a localized version of Thunderbird).

When I click on Privacy and cookies in the right bottom corner, then two lines appear (although without any labels), where I can type in my verification code (I guess that it is the second line, because it shows dots in place of the typed characters, as for passwords). A screenshot of this window can be seen in the second picture.

However, after typing the correct code and clicking on the grey button, the first window reappears, this time with my email address that keeps flashing forever and nothing happens. It does not even matter if I type in the right verification number or just anything, it produces the same behaviour. As a result, I can't log in to my mailbox, which is operational, because I can log in there through the web interface of outlook, and also from my laptop using Thunderbird 78.14.0. I also made sure that the server name and authentication methods are correct (outlook.office365.com, port 993, SSL/TLS, OAuth2).

Do you have any suggestion how to solve this issue?

I have used Thunderbird for many years. I had a problem viewing a jpg file that I couldn't resolve and decided to uninstall Thunderbid to install it again. Mail is working smoothly but I can't access my multi-year Calendar. I've tried several alternatives with no solution and I really need help please. I'm in Portugal and I'm Portuguese. My English is Google Translate's English. Thank you.

Whenever I select an email in my Inbox which has attached files (of any type) i get this pop-up, one for each attachment. https://assets-prod.sumo.prod.webservices.mozgcp.net/media/uploads/images/2024-07-02-00-10-20-f3ab8a.png This has only been occurring since I updated to Ubuntu 24.04 and Thunderbird 115.12.0-2 If I click on the "Find more in Software" button I get a message 'Failed to execute child process "Gnome Software" (No such file/directory)'. I have searched for a solution but can only find a reference which suggests that the problem has something to do with Evolution, (the file handler, not Darwin's theory). Any suggestions? Cheers Ian

Updated Thunderbird to 117.12.2 on the 25 June 2024. Since then I am not receiving emails on my computer. I have actually sent some emails but they don't save into the sent folder and I have had a "Add security exception" warning occured when sending.

So problem is not getting new emails since the latest update was loaded. Thanks Neil

Using TBird 15.10.1 64-bit on my Windows 10 desktop system, I find under Tools | Address Book a down arrow to the left of Personal Address Book; clicking on it displays all my created address lists, which are available when I compose a message to send.

Using 15.10.1 64-bit on my Windows 11 laptop, the down arrow does not appear and I have no access to those lists.

Am using IMAP on both systems. Tried importing lists as a CSV file; no effect. How can I get access to my address lists on both PCs?

All morning I had been receiving and sending emails without issue. Then at approx 12:41 PM EST Thunderbird stopped working. I can send and receive emails through AOL to AOL but they do not show up in Thunderbird. I did not have any other computer issues and did not change any settings. Verizon told me it was an AOL issue, but I was able to successfully send and receive messages with AOL. AOL tried to fix it but ultimately said it was a Thunderbird issue. In the last 6 or 7 weeks I have had issues with Thunderbird. What is going on? Very Very Frustrating!!!

Unable to fix the side by side error, my only option may be to re-install Thunderbird or migrate to Outlook.

My question is whether its feasible to re-install Thunderbird and still preserve my old profile and emails. I haven't done any backups of Thunderbird but do still have all my emails on the server.

I can send emails but when try to receive emails I get Login to server inbound.att.net with username topgun30@sbcglobal.net failed.

I installed the new version of Thunderbird, and it's strange. I can receive emails and send emails, but I'm getting an error message at the bottom right corner of my screen:

Could not connect to the mail server (and then it names my server name) The connection was refused

What do I gotta do to make this go away?
