gmail problems with Firefox on my Mac. Pre-set formatting disappears

When using Firefox with gmail and an email is sent all of the preset formatting disappears after the email is sent. This isn't happening in Gmail with Safari. I have always used Firefox but this is so annoying. I have tried to trouble shoot for the problem but can't stop this from happening. I contacted gmail and they told me it was a Firefox problem. I previously asked this question over a month ago but still nobody has answered and can help with this problem. Firefox is up to date, and this is on a Macbook pro Retina Mac OS Sierra version 10:12:6

SAFE MODE

In Firefox Safe mode these changes are effective:

  • all extensions are disabled (about:addons)
  • default theme is used (no persona)
  • userChrome.css and userContent.css are ignored (chrome folder)
  • default toolbar layout is used (file: localstore-safe.rdf)
  • Javascript JIT compilers are disabled (prefs: javascript.options.*jit)
  • hardware acceleration is disabled (Options > Advanced > General)
  • plugins are not affected
  • preferences are not affected

Thank you for your help but this still didn't fix the problem. I even reinstalled Firefox. I tested the emails again sent from Gmail and the pre-set formatting still disappears after the email is sent.
