Why is it no longer possible to see a list of stored cookies in Firefox 66.0

Until a couple of days ago when the Firefox 66.0 update was automatically downloaded to my computer, I was able to go to Tools>options>privacy and security>see cookies. Why has this facility been removed? I do not want to simply be able to do a blanket "clear recent history" because doing that means I have to log in afresh to all the websites I do trust. I want to be able to see wat cookies have been placed from sites I don't know simply because I have carried out a Google search. It seems a retrograde step to have removed this, and as a result I shall be uninstalling Firefox. A great shame!

Chosen solution

click the "manage data..." button within the cookies & site data section then ;-)

Apologies! I meant to type "what cookies", obviously. Sloppy self-editing (or lack of!)

hi, in the privacy & security options > cookies and site data > manage site data, you can see which sites have set cookies (and new in firefox 60 also data through other storage apis). if you want to inspect the content of individual cookies, you can do so through the firefox developer tools: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Tools/Storage_Inspector

Hi Phillip! And thank you for responding to my question so swiftly. I have indeed used the link you gave (thanks, again!), but I'm almost a technophobe: just a simple Firefox user who wants to be able to remove certain cookies from websites I'm not interested in at the end of each day. That was always possible, and one of the reasons I chose to use Firefox. To be honest, the developer tools are far too complex for me. I want something in the browser menu to help me keep a limit on cookies. If Firefox can no longer give me that, I'll look for an alternative - but with sadness cos I've used this one since Netscape days more than 20 years ago!

Note that in Firefox 60 can still use the "View Cookies" button on the "Tools -> Page Info -> Security" page to view the cookies in a standalone window. In Firefox 61+ you will have to use the Storage Inspector to inspect and manage individual cookies.

In that case, I'll have to uninstall Firefox and find another browser. As I already said after over 20 years of using first paid-for Netscape, then Firefox that is a great shame! But I have been getting increasingly annoyed with the constant tinkering for some time now - it's a pity you don't listen to loyal users!!

Same here. There was a very usefull feature in FF: A list of cookies PER PAGE. This list was replaced with just the count of cookies per page. The discussion on this page to this topic is not at all usefull.

As a web developer I used FF many hours a day since more than 20 years now. In the last months I saw FF working faster and faster and with more and more features disappearing. Register process to reply to support posts is as from last century beeing buggy now since more lots of days.

I guess its time to switch to Chrome or another main browser.

Hi mozport

As a developer you should acquaint yourself with the builtin Firefox developer tools. The Storage Inspector should give you all information about all types of storage that Firefox supports and that exceeds the cookies.
