Signing into Primary Email (rshearin@verizon.net) on Yahoo Mail is not working.

Yahoo Mail was down for HOURS last night. When it comes back up overnight, I can login to my secondary emails (Yahoo.com) but the correct password for rshearin@verizon.net responds "server error"

Yahoo washes their hands of it because it's a "third party app."

From the article "Microsoft OAuth Authentication and Thunderbird in 2024" there is a screenshot showing a OAuth2 option for the SMTP server setting with STARTTLS connection security. It does not appear for me. There are only the five options, as shown in the screenshot. How do enable the option to be available in the drop-down list or set it?

The available options are:

No Authentication Normal Password Encrypted Password Kerberos / GSSAPI NTLM

I am on Thunderbird version 115.12.1 (64-bit), Windows 11, version 23H2, build 22631.3737

Spam folder count doesn't update

When looking at my list of folders after download, the SPAM folder doesn't seem to update the count of unread messages until I specifically open it. I miss the fact I ha… (ler mais)

When looking at my list of folders after download, the SPAM folder doesn't seem to update the count of unread messages until I specifically open it. I miss the fact I have spam unless I specifically go in and look. Is this a function/feature of JUST the SPAM folder (all other folders seem to have their counts updated after a download). On Thunderbird 115.12.1 64 bit if that is of interest.

On powering up my PC this morning, opened Thunderbird and everything was gone - email settings to my various accounts, settings, calendar, addresses etc nothing is left at all

All I have is a basic screen : "To set up your existing email address" etc

How do I get rid off the data shown below? It shows up as part of the header on every received email. And it shows up when I print or forward an email. It does not appear when I reply. This is a new problem - last month or so. Some kind of setting that I cannot figure out. Thanks Joe

Thank you for your thoughtfulness but I must be missing something. I created the new key, copied it to clipboard and to a piece of paper. I went to Thunderbird and typed the new key in when it asked for a password, checking the box for password manager. I've done it twice to no avail. I can't move anything to type it in the account settings.

More thoughts, please. (A grad school friend used to say , in a rich North Carolina accent, it didn't work because you didn't know how to hold your mouth. So I know there's something I'm missing.)

Four days ago the Att server started to refuse my password (I assume that was it). After four changes of password, including in Thunderbird, the password keeps being refused. Have exhausted several att agents who can't figure out why it doesn't work. One thought the server settings were correct.

Just heard from David who advised not to enter the secure key until asked. After the automatic opening cycle when thunderbird seems to be trying to get out, there is a window in which you can put your password. That is where I have put it (twice). Is this not the place.? Or the timing?

Thunderbird could not get to the att server starting Sunday; it's now Thursday night. (Everything else inexplicably went down: landline, internet, cell phone, even the printer.) Now it's all back except a working Thunderbird. Today I finally made contact with someone at att who could show me that my password was working and went through all the account variables in Thunderbird, testing them out to no avail. Her conclusion was that the problem was on the Thunderbird side. But I need my 30 years of files. I have just been through a thread from 11/23 full of similar problems but no solution that I could figure out. I am ignorant. Can anyone provide some instructions for an ignorant 88 year old to follow for at least a better diagnosis. (I guess I'm saying that many words need definitions for me.) I hope I've bookmarked that long discussion with varying ideas so I can look at it again when I recover from this week. Thanks for any help.

My sent emails from 4 of 5 accounts disappeared in Tbird but still on their servers.

Rackspace hosts 2, inmotion 1, and gmail, 2. One gmail account has the sent emails showing in Tbird. All are smtp accounts. The send file header shows the # of messages sent but there are no results showing. I have not changed any settings or new add ons for weeks so I did not do anything new. Maybe the app updated itself and there is a bug? I see in beta that compacting folders is a problem and wondering if this could be related?

Rackspace has the sent email on the servers. InMotion has sent emails Gmail has sent emails and one of the accounts still has sent email in a gmail account.

I'm repairing one of the accounts as I write but nothing showing up in sent file for that account. This is totally wacky. Thanks for any suggestions of why Tbird is wacky.

My e-mail account was transferred from Verizon to AOL a few years back and I never experienced any problems until one sunny morning last week when I started getting the following message: "Sending of password for user pjklim did not succeed. Mail server pop.verizon.net responded: [SYS/TEMP] Server error - Please try again later." When I typed the password in the window that popped up the message reappeared. I know that AOL went to double login identification, so I suspect it might have something to do with that. I checked all my Thunderbird settings and they all appear to be correct. I verified the pop and smtp setting through a chat with AOL. What can I do? Regards Peter

I have a verizon.net email account at AOL. AOL now requires use of a one-time-use "app password" to sign in from Thunderbird. This does work but it seems like now I will have to go through this process (going to AOL web mail and requesting a new app password) every time I reboot my computer or restart Thunderbird. Old Emails still stored locally, but not available

Now I need access to some of the folders where emails were locally stored. I know where on the computer fined the folders/files of the old emails. How do I import them into my current TB profile?

I'm using Thunderbird for many years. Today I had to reinstall my Windows and obviously to set up my apps including Thunderbird. Unfortunately an error is popping up after I filled all of the required information. I restarted my PC. I reinstalled Thunderbird. I'm using the most popular email client in Bulgaria.

Nothing works so far. Screen shots are attached including the provided settings from my email client.

When I save my emails for later they are saved in the DRAFTS folder, the DRAFT folder appears not to be used. I have tried to delete it but guess it must be some sort of system folder.
