I normally have a few tabs open all the time. When I close FF with the windows x on the title bar it closes and when I click the FF logo pinned on the taskbar FF opens with my previous session tabs, this is normal way work. Then for some reason it suddenly changes so when I open FF I get a new window with no tabs. I usually can recover this with >History>Recently closed tabs. But if FF is started with a link in a document, I deal with that and when it closes I realise that it had opened a new window, when it closes there is no recently closed tabs history and I've lost them all. I think this happens because the link opened a new window and closed it automatically and now because it had no more tabs open there is no tab history to recover. But then it stays like that. Every time I open FF it opens a new blank window, I click the >Recently closed tabs and get it back. Then close the new blank window then close FF but it doesn't re-open with the previous tabs even though it's set to do so. It works OK for a while and then suddenly starts this aberration. I've tried getting help on this before and was advised to close FF >3Bars>Exit but that closes all open sessions rather than just the one I want to close. This problem has been on going for a long time and is extremely annoying when all the tabs are lost. I even suggested that there could be a session stack maybe 10 or 20 so we could open that and recover any of the stack sessions we wanted. I'm sorry to say that FF is not the reliable browser it once was.

Hi, i have a PEC account configured on 2 different computers, when i forward a mail, near the message appears a blue mark, but in the other computer didn't appear, so my colleague cannot tell if i forwarded the mail or not, can you help me? this problem is only with PEC accounts, with normal mail works correctly, this problem came out some months ago, before worked also whit the PEC accounts

One of the add-in permissions is "Access your data for sites in the “named” domain". I looked at that and thought, "That certainly cannot include passwords"; BUT the explanation for this permission is: "The extension could read the content of web pages you visit in the specified domain, as well as data you enter into those web pages, such as usernames and passwords. "

I was stunned.

That means that addins that get this permission have access to my banking/medical/etc. usernames & passwords. This is not acceptable. Can a permission be developed that would be: "Access your data for sites in the “named” domain" (except usernames/passwords).

The permission "Access your data for all websites" is significantly worse in that it applies to all sites.

sometimes when I send an email, the program loads a completely different email and then saves it as sent,sometimes when I send an email, the program loads a completely different email and then saves it as sent. On the email provider's website, everything is correct, but unfortunately there is an error in the program. This comes up to me often.

can you help me somehow?

Recently switched from Outlook to Thunderbird, however still have Outlook to make sure Thunderbird is working the way I want to.

However any emails that I am sending - whilst appearing in my Sent folder in Outlook, aren't in the same folder in Thunderbird. Strange thing is however, if I use the search bar, it DOES find the email, and says it is in my sent folder.

I've tried sorting by name, by date, by anything I can think of, but I can't find these emails in the sent folder.

The only thing I can think of, is that the emails have not been delivered - even though sent - because when testing it out with a separate email address that I have, the emails appear fine.

Any ideas anybody?

all of a sudden when I log on to hotmail dot com I get the error message too many requests when I switch browsers to edge I can log on to hotmail as normal

Version 127.0.2 for linux. Opening a direct link to a pdf file gives the error --- Downloading [file].pdf.part (header) [...].pdf.part could not be saved, because an unknown error occurred. Try saving to a different location. --- The file name is 144 characters long including spaces. I don't have any technical browser experience so I'll put what I know. These are the headers HTTP/1.1 200 OK Server: nginx Date: Fri, 28 Jun 2024 03:52:54 GMT Content-Type: application/octet-stream Content-Length: 4841076 Connection: keep-alive ETag: "65a096a5-49de74" Accept-Ranges: bytes Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="[144 char long filename].pdf" Everything seems okay. When I click on the link instead of opening as Save As, which I think it should, it immediately gives me that error. I have the ask me where to save thing checked. My home directory is ecryptfs. Ecryptfs says it has a max file name of 143 characters. Mine stops working after 140 characters or 144 including ".pdf". Anyways I think the file name breaks my file system. I was trying to download two pdfs. This is another one I tried to download earlier that gave me the error. Additionally clicking save link as allows me to choose a file name and continue normally. I have a few more problems I'd like to put in this ticket. A. After giving me the error Firefox crashed immediately afterwards. This was a few days ago. Firefox has never crashed like that before in months. I don't remember exactly what happened but it did crash. If crash logs are needed I can find it. B. After attempting to downloading a video (mp4) file this happened. The mp4 file didn't show up anywhere but a -1 byte part file showed up. It took the name of a subfolder in the folder I had intended to download the image file. I'll explain it in further detail below. I attempted to download an image in /home/user/Documents. In the Documents folder I had another folder which I'll call example. So /Documents/example. I did save the video in Documents but I don't think that mattered. After closing the save as box that popped up after clicking save video I noticed the weird file show up in the Downloads tab. It showed up in the "example" folder and took the name "example".part. Remember I never chose the "example" folder but I did choose the Documents folder. All my files inside the "example" folder broke and I couldn't delete the weird part file. Clicking properties showed the permissions could not be determined. When I interacted with it (I think I tried deleting it) it gave me an error with "gvfsd-admin daemon". I don't remember what it said exactly. I applied my folder's permissions to its contents and I was able to delete it. It doesn't show up in my downloads manager now. I ran clamav and everything was fine. Note I downloaded the video from a trusted source, twimg or the twitter video host. C. Finally when downloading a pdf link that worked, I didn't get the file app box that allows you to save as. I stated above that I have the ask me where to save thing turned on. I don't know if that was a feature or what. Here's the link. Why didn't it open a save as box though? My third question B is a bit more serious. Surely these are bugs?

I would like to remove the newly added listing "Local FOlders" from the Folder Tree and restore the Local Folders listing that was moved to the bottom (below All Folders) to its proper place, namely Above Local Folders. This group displays Sent Copies which I use frequently. The newly added 2nd display called "Local Folders" does not disply "Sent Copies" when I click on it in the folder tree. Thunderbirfd decided to move my original "Sent Folders" display to the bottom of the tree when updating to the latest version last night (early morning hours of 6/26/24). I run thunderbird in Windows 10 Desktop on Lenovo w530 using wired internet connection.

I'm running Windows 10 Pro (64-bit). I have two different versions of Thunderbird installed on my system; one is installed in Program Files (64-bit version 125.0.0.0 dated 04/23/2024—old version) and the other is installed in Program Files (x86) (64-bit version 115.12.2.0 dated 06/25/2024—the current version). The shortcut icon on my desktop (which I never use) runs the older version located in the Program Files folder while the shortcut icon on my taskbar (and also the one in my Start menu) runs the updated version located in the Program Files (x86) folder.

As an aside, there are 21 .dll files in the Program Files (x86) folder (all starting with api-ms-win and dated 09/27/2023) while none of those files are in the Program Files folder.

FYI, I have been using Thunderbird on this PC for almost five years.

How do I fix this problem so that I have only the current version of Thunderbird run from the proper folder, Program Files?

Earlier today I had to do a complete software reset on my MacBook Pro (running Sonoma 14.5). Prior to the reset, I had been running the newest version of Firefox and was signed in; I assumed that Sync was on and that it was storing my passwords and bookmarks.

After the system reset, I re-installed Firefox and signed in again, but none of my passwords or bookmarks are showing up. However, under connected services, I still see the old (pre-reset) name of my MacBook Pro, in addition to the MacBook Pro's current name.

Is it possible to retrieve my pre-reset passwords and bookmarks?

What is the way to tell thunderbird to index IMAP folders in global-messages-db.sqlite which are not stored locally?

And a more generally, how does this part work, message indexing and remote IMAP folders not stored locally? Here, after removing the database, thunderbird indexed only some very limited set of IMAP folders in the Gloda, but not all of the folders, despite all are checked for "Include in global search". Or maybe it didn't even index whole folders, - I can't say for sure.

Every time I open my Firefox browser (it is my default), even during a session when the browser has not closed, I get a pop-up prompting me to download an update. After numerous attempts to download the update, it still did not show up in my download folder nor did I see the download run or prompt a "finish". I checked download history and finally see that it says it installed on 6/25 but I am still getting repeated prompts to download and install an update.

This is maddening. I am using Windows 10 Enterprise on an HP Elite Desk.

Please help me fix this!

I have Thunderbird version 60.9.1 running on my window 7 64 bit computer. I have kept this old version, as an add-on that I like / need (Theme Font & Size Changer) said it would not be upgraded for later versions of Thunderbird at the time (that I did not like the font size options available at the time).

Are the instructions correct for my older version of Thunderbird? If not can you provide correct instructions?

Alternatively, does the latest version of Thunderbird now support the font size changes that the add-on provided and Thunderbird did not provide at the time. If so, I can update to the latest version of Thunderbird.

I opened Tbird to see what version the new Ubu 24.04 installed (115.12.0, which I discovered wouldn't be published, so I downloaded v.r.2. In this set of FF (127.0.1) pages now, the mouse wheel will not scroll. It works everywhere else in my installation (24.04).

Ideas?

FF settings have "smooth scrolling" checked; unchecked it did nothing to improve. mouse is a ~recent Logitech (M317c) which as noted, works in all other apps.

Since the penultimate and now the last current update to version 127.0.2 (64Bit), the button (tile with the + sign) to add new shortcuts is no longer available. How can new shortcuts be added now?

I have been using [edited] @comcast.net as user name for Firefox account. I want to delete that email because I'm leaving comcast ASAP. I read instruction that say add a new email name as a secondary account and then delete the primary one above. I entered [edited[ @gmail.com. I got a message that said that account already exists. Since I didn't know that or remember any password for it, I entered [edited] @gmail.com and said "forgot password." I changed it Now Firefox won't let me in using the [edited] @gmail.com account. Would appreciate any help you can offer.
