I have no buttons in the plug ins screen firefox 27other than tha button always activate but even then when I click on this it doesn't do anything. I just installed quick time and that shows up as all buttons available but no other plug in has any control button visible. What has happened and how to fix please? Also the flash payer plug in shows 2 versions old and current but I cannot remove the old and the screen shows it has been disabled by Mozilla please update but the update fails. Thanks. Assybish

You need to select "Never Activate" from the drop-down list to disable a plugin. Only extensions that you have installed have a Remove button.

Disabling a plugin will turn it off without removing it:

At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button, and then click Add-ons. The Add-ons Manager tab will open. In the Add-ons Manager tab, select the Plugins panel. Select the plugin you wish to disable. Select Never Activate in its drop-down menu. To re-enable the plugin, find it in the list of Plugins and select Always Activate in its drop-down menu.

Hi thanks for that but that's not the point. The only option that exists is never activate no drop dow her to give the alternates and no buttons at all to allow disable they just don't exist.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

As you already noticed, your System Details List shows multiple Flash plugins.

  1. Shockwave Flash 12.0 r0
  2. Shockwave Flash 11.3 r300

You can find the installation path of all plugins on the about:plugins page.

You can check the Flash player installation folder for multiple Flash player plugins and remove all (older) version(s) of the plugin (NPSWF32) and (re)install the latest Flash player.

Hi Corel thanks for your help. I tried this but still get no disable buttons in plug ins display screen see image. I did remove and reinstall adobe flash manually as this was the reason I was on this screen anyway and they refused to uninstall or update - I guess because of mozilla blocking the older version so I had to do it the hard way. As you will now resolved and flashworks normally but still no disable button - don't understand why.
