You bookmark something. It shows that little emblem to the left of the of the website. Following me? Say youtube. I book mark a channel it says it is youtube. but the emblem is cnn's. Some stay as the youtube emblem and others change to the cnn logo. A couple are that tabloid site Daily mail. I remove the book marks and start over but it will always go back to that emblem.

Try to rename/remove favicons.sqlite in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

This will remove all the favicons, so you will have to click each bookmark to make Firefox retrieve the favicon from the server.
