Most probably, thet is to say it should. You might want to just disable it though. Same result but when disabled it is a turn on and off feature, rather that a go find it feature.

You might also want to look at the carddav add-on. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/cardbook/?src=hp-dl-featured

Fairly new address book add-on, bet well executed and with built in carddav import and export.

Yes it worked but now will not export/import the entire file. I get an error msg saying that an error occurred this will happen. I will try your suggested email extension. I use W10 with Chrome or Firefox.

tks so much

Address book exp/imp problem solved: I used LDIF format instead of CSV and worked just fine. Imported adbk just fine.

Next question, I imported my mail folder to the MAIL folder on new PC windows 10. A ton of emails, emails transferred OK but can't see them in the Thunderbird client to work with, how do I get them there?

tks all
