why java is disabled from newer version of firefox? so there is any alternative for it?

we have one application it has some feature like download files and run through java applet, few days ago we got new update of firfox and found in that there is no option available for java plugin to enable it.

so we need to understand that reason why its happen and if we cant use so there is any alternative for it?

Java is a plugin in the Add-ons Manager.

Make sure your Java (Not JavaScript) is up to date Verify Java and Find Out-of-Date Versions {web link}
