Firefox keeps crashing, not working properly.

I think there's something wrong with Firefox. A few days ago it wouldn't open anymore on my Computer. So I ended up removing it from my computer and re-installing it. Well, it let's me access the web but now it won't let me Download anything. When I try to download Music I purchased on Amazon it just freezes up and it stops. It's not an Amazon problem because I also tried downloading Pictures off of Twitter and it did the same thing. And it's not my computer either because everything else works fine. Could you please look into this issue and let me know when it is resolved.
