CTRL + E, which is a standard accross major browsers doesn't work as expected
Since Firefox 4b7, the CTRL+E keyboard shortcut to activates panorama, instead of putting the cursor into the search bar. 63 people already reported this problem for FFx4b7, but nothing has been changed. (http://support.mozilla.com/ta-LK/questions/764069). This is also a uservoice entry about this: https://firefox.uservoice.com/forums/57440-firefox-4-beta/suggestions/1216407-change-ctrl-e-back-to-search
I am reporting this again for FFx4b8, as nothing chagned since FFx4b7.
1. CTRL+E for the search bar is a standard accross all major browsers.
2. Chainging a long standing keyboard shortcut like this is senseless as it hinders usability.
3. People used to the old functionality now constantly activate panorama when they want to use the search bar, which is quite frustrating. 4. CTRL+K, the new shortcut for the search bar is a way slower and cumbersome as it required two hands.
5. Give us back our CTRL+E for the search bar and let panorama have CTRL+K

edit: Somehow I can't change the tags on this one.

CTRL+K, the new shortcut for the search bar is a way slower and cumbersome as it required two hands.
Some users may already use two hands for control [Ctrl] keyboard shortcuts.
I tend to use two hands when using control keys or when typing single capital letters. My keyboard has two shift keys and two control keys.
It might be useful if firefox allowed a method of customising (customizing) keyboard shortcuts, but I doubt that can be done with an add-on and will probably not be a priority as a development request.
Developers are unlikely to see this, this is an end-user support forum with questions being answered by volunteers. You can post it on the Mozilla feedback system where developers are more likely to see it - http://hendrix.mozilla.org/
You can also use the following link, but that only allows for short messages to be sent - http://input.mozilla.com/en-US/feedback

Ctrl +K for setting focus to the search bar and Ctrl + L to set focus to the location bar have always been there as the preferred shortcuts and Ctrl + K is shown in the Tools menu.
The Ctrl + E shortcut is an extra search2 shortcut that is Ctrl + E on Windows and Ctrl + J on Linux.
Why would firefox think they need to break something that works? Firefox dev team, if you are as open as you claim to be, please make it an option to use the standard fuction of CTRL+E to focus on the search bar. ASAP.
poldim, as mentioned above, developers are unlikely to see this. Questions here are mainly answered by volunteers.
I have had the same problem, and decided I couldn't wait for the Firefox head cheeses to do something that they don't want to do. So I created this:

Enjoy! Cheers!
