I have tried un-installing and re-installing Firefox, using several programs for uninstall and cleanup; but for some reason, my homepage keeps resetting itself to the first homepage I selected. Everytime I change it, after I close the program and re-open it, it reverts to the first homepage I selected for it. I need to know how to either delete firefox in a way that will destroy those settings, or change the homepage setting in a way that will keep it from resetting. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated, thanks!

There is software like Advanced SystemCare with its Surfing Protection feature that can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.

If you do not keep changes after a restart or otherwise have problems with preferences, see:

What is the home page that will not change?

Bookmark and use this; Download the Mozilla Search Reset {web link} This add-on is very simple: on installation, it backs up and then resets your search preferences and home page to their default values, and then uninstalls itself. This affects the search bar, URL bar searches, and the home page.

Having more than one version of a program may cause issues. You must remove the older programs. Then get the current full installer.

Flash: Grab the uninstaller from here: Uninstall Flash Player | Windows Uninstall Flash Player | Mac

Then reinstall the latest version.

Flash Player Version 20.0.0.286

Note: Windows users should download the ‘’’active_x’’’ for “Internet Explorer,” and the ‘’’plugin’’’ for “Plugin-based browsers” (like Firefox).

Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the ’’’plugin’’’ only. Not the ’’’active_x’’’.

Adobe still offers Flash 18.0.0.326 as its extended support release further down

You nailed it! I have Advanced Systemcare and it was indeed "protecting" my home-page, even from myself! Thank you for your help!
