I need to stop it from forcing me to update adobe or use a different flash player HOW?

I want the click to play feature. I do not want it to run automatically and suck up my cpu I want to choose which flvs run.

It is now forcing me to "activate" adobe to automate it and that is precisely what I do not want to do!

It works fine on google chrome whats up with deeming the older versions invalid and FORCING me to activate the latest version?

What if anything is the solution? Instal an earlier version of mozilla?

  1. In the Location bar, type about:config and press Enter. The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page may appear.
  2. Click I'll be careful, I promise!, to continue to the about:config page.
  3. Search plugins.click_to_play and double click it.
  4. It should now say true to the far right and be bold.

and about stopping auto updates (leaves you open for malware)

Mozilla does issue a blocklist of plugins and extensions deemed to be overly vulnerable to security exploits. That's a different issue than click-to-play (either the built-in feature, or an extension like Flashblock).

Why do you want to run Flash 11.3 vs. current Flash 11.7?

Edit: Oh wait, I think you just want an old Flash to trigger the blocking and require click-to-play. Try FlashBlock instead.
