Everytime I go to search something, the damn program LOCKS UP my computer and I have to do a "hard boot" to get back control of my computer!!!!

What are you using as your search engine? Have you tried a different one?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Does that problem go away if you use Firefox in Windows Safe mode Firefox safe mode and with all plugins disabled.

Obviously Firefox should not do that and if it was doing so with a lot of people I am sure we would have heard about the problem. I wonder if it could be a malware issue ? I would suggest it is a good idea to try scanning with all of the tools suggested in

Please also check to see if Firefox is crashing and generating crash reports.if so and you have recent crash reports please provide the Crash IDs of two or three of those crashes.
