I have a dual boot set up; Win XP Firefox on one partition has lots of bookmarks I wish to copy(sync) to my Ubuntu Firefox. Although Ubuntu says it has sync'd no new bookmarkes appear. What am I missing please?

I set up sync within the Windows XP Firefox and obtained a key. I then used the key in my Ubuntu Firefox and expected, when I pressed sync that the bookmarks in Win Firefox would transfer to the Ubuntu firefox. However, the list of Ubuntu bookmarks did not change. Should I import them instead?

Recycling from WinXP to Ubuntu, Syncing after opening Firefox in each has led to the desired transfer.
