I'm using Thunderbird 64-bit for Linux, the latest version in the Ubuntu repositories for 20.2 LTS. Thunderbird was running fine when I shut the PC down last night, this morning I couldn't get it to start, and running

thunderbird %u

in a terminal produced the output below. This is over my head, I'm afraid. Can anybody tell me what I need to do to fix the problem? I have made no changes to the PC (no upgrades) since Thunderbird was working OK last night.

Thanks!

I have no idea what has happened here. I tried a reboot, then I tried reinstalling Thunderbird, then I tried another reboot. No change in the symptoms.

Then I had to go out this morning, and shut the PC down. I came back to it this afternoon, and now Thunderbird is working again.

If anybody has the slightest idea of what might have caused all this, please post a reply!
