Upgraded to FF 22. FF comes up on the display as transparent. Can see the desktop through the FF screen. No problem with FF 21 or any previous version. Running Windows 7 64 bit version

If you haven't already tried this, start Firefox in its Safe Mode to see whether one of your extensions is the culprit.

Firefox's Safe Mode is a standard diagnostic tool to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.

If Firefox is running: Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

If Firefox is not running: Hold the Shift key while start Firefox

Then, in the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset)

Any difference?

Hi kccat5, I'm not sure I understand your problem. From your first post, it sounded as though Firefox would not install, but your second post mentions trying the Firefox help menu. Either way, it sounds different from the original question about Firefox being partially transparent when it runs.

To avoid confusing the various issues, could you start a new question and include your system information: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/new/desktop/fix-problems

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

See:

Try to disable transparency in Windows.
Right click in a free space on your desktop.
Left click on Personalization.
There are four options at the bottom of the screen, choose "Window Color and Appearance".
Select a border color
Uncheck: "Enable transparency"
