How do I retrieve a file from the cache?

I need to retrieve a PDF that I downloaded about a month ago (an airline boarding pass). I can find a file in the folder C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\zefpve4i.default\Cache\D\74 that has the right timestamp and looks about the right size. However, this is just a binary file, and no likely file from this date appears in about:cache nor in the Nirsoft cache utility program. Is there any way of retrieving it?

Try programs such as 7-zip or winrar.

I see, they are gzip files. So I managed to open the file, but unfortunately it wasn't what I was looking for. I guess it has been purged from the cache.
