Recently downloaded Firefox 8 and now Youtube wont work. Other Flash sites have issues also. I have version 11,0,1,152 installed.

Go to you tube and the videos dont load. Recently updated to firefox 8.0 and now Flash is giving me issues. 11.0.1.1.52 is the flash installed.

I had this same problem too but managed to fix it. Uninstall Flash from your computer (i uninstalled Adobe Flash Player 11 ActiveX 64-bit and Adobe Flash Player 11 Plugin 64-bit from ADD/REMOVE) once they were both uninstalled i reinstalled the player and it seems to have fixed it.

That was the first thing I did. I am using XP and up until I installed Firefox 8 I had no problems. Uninstalled Firefox and Flash and re-installed both and no change.

Have the latest final releases of Firefox and Flash and I have this problem too. Flash working fine in IE though... :P

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

That doesn't fix the problem for me. All other browsers work fine, it's just firefox that wont play video.
