Firefox is not saving my passwords, even though I've asked it to. Any ideas? I'm using 3.6.17 in order to get other programs to work.

I've gone to Tools, Options, Security and clicked "Remember passwords for sites." I can view these sites and passwords when I click on "Saved Passwords." When I open websites, I have to re-enter my information every time, even though I select "remember for this site." Why do I have to re-enter this information every time?

As indicated, I am using Firefox 3.6.17. I first tried 4 but I could not play Scrabble in Facebook and I could not open a number of links.

Thank you!

Websites remembering you and automatically log you in is stored in a cookie.

Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.

Thanks. I had Firefox set up to accept cookies already. So I'm not sure why websites are not remembering me, if "Websites remembering you and automatically log you in is stored in a cookie."

I don't use Private Browsing mode.

The other problem Firefox is giving me: every time I log into Facebook I have to tell it which computer I'm using, since it tells me I'm using a "new" computer each time (I'm not). It won't let me change the Login Notification in Facebook (under My Account) to unclick the box where it tells me whenever I log in from an "unrecognized" computer. There are two problems here: 1. I can't unclick that box. 2. I'm using the same computer every time; why is it "new" or "unrecognized"?
