I've checked in Options and made sure my keyboard's fully functioning and I can't find a way of taking Firefox back to going to the address typed when I press enter.

Some security software like "AVG Safe Search" blocks the Enter key so that nothing happens when you hit it after typing in a URL.

If the problem is that it's taking you to Google with a list of sites, then you have to hit CTRL+Enter rather than just the Enter key on its own.

Here are the respective key combinations.

  • .com, hit CTRL+Enter (just type in the name of the site)
  • .net, hit SHIFT+Enter
  • .org, hit CTRL+SHIFT+Enter

I have the same problem, but can you tell me how to solve it? When I press enter nothing happens, and I'm using AVG. Tell me please how to solve the problem...
