When I download a file, I can see, when download is finished in the progress ongoing downloadicon (CTRL-J) the time when the download was ready e.g. 17.05.

If I go to the download-folder with WIndows explorer, the time of this file is 21.05. So there's is a difference of 4 hours exactly.

My settings of the time-zone are correct. I live in the Netherlands so the setting should be UTC+01, Amsterdam. Daylight saving is also checked. I have tried to change this setting of the time zone, but this will not solve the problem. A restart in save-mode of Firefox makes no difference, so it couldn't be an add-on.

The clocktime in the taskbar is the same as in Windows explorer, and this time is correct.To my opinion the problem is in Firefox. Because in de downloadfolder, achieved by pressing the keys CTRL-J gives a different time.

Please, can you help me solving this problem?

Thanks in advance.

Adriaan.

Don't forget where the file was download may be a different time zone. Is the file intact?

What is your offset from UTC? Then consider maybe another hour difference for Daylight time.

more options

Yes, the file is intact. And it doesn't depend if I download a file from my home country or anywhere else.

Maybe the following can help: if I place a message in Facebook, the time is exactly 4 hours different from my PC-time.

Thans for your help anyway.

Best regards, Adriaan.

My offset from UTC is +1 hour (Amsterdam), Daylight saving is checked. So if there would be a difference, it would be maximum 2 hours. But it's 4 hours...

Yes, considering your location that 4 hour difference is strange.

Do the times in the history show correctly?

You can make more columns visible in the Library via the "Views > Columns" menu or right-click the header in the right pane.

Did you check the time zone setting in Windows?

You can see the current time and time zone if you paste this code in the command line of the Web Console (Web Developer > Web Console; Ctrl+Shift+K)

  • (new Date)
  • (new Date).toLocaleString("nl",{day:"numeric",month:"long",year:"numeric",hour:"numeric",minute:"numeric",second:"numeric",hour12:false,timeZoneName:"long"})

I see a 6 hour difference.

What do you see?

I'm curious why you do not see summertime UTC+02:00

Note that on this forum you didn't set the time zone in your user profile:

  • TimeZone:[US/Pacific];
    datetime="2015-06-03T10:24:32-07:00"
    datetime="2015-06-03T17:24:32+00:00"
    datetime="2015-06-03T19:24:32+02:00"
