Whatever i do, the version of Firefox does not go over 11.0. The old one keeps crashing.

Firefox 11 is the current release, although Firefox 12 moves to release anytime now.

If you have problems with crashes please read the troubleshooting information & tips in firefox crashes.

(If you are working in a corporate environment or a large educational establishment it is possible Firerox 10 ESR may be considerd.)
