Before I updated to Firefox 13.0.1, I used version 3.6. I remember that I closed with few tabs open(4 websites). Later I installed latest version 13.0.1. The problem now is whenever I open firefox after my system startup, the firefox window is opening up those 4 websites. Even when I close the firefox, it is not asking for "save and exit" unlike earlier old version.

Please help me how to get rid of this ?

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Here is how I fixed it for myself.

Once the firefox window is opened, 4 tabs are opening up. I closed all of them except one (say google.com), then navigated to Tools --> Options --> General tab and then click on "Use Current Pages". then ok...

thats it, when u open firefox next time, only google page opens up...

You can customize what tabs and windows open when Firefox starts. Instructions are here - Set what pages open when Firefox starts

There was a change. At one time Firefox asked if you wanted the tabs saved, now it saves them by default.

You can set Firefox to open on the previous tabs, or you can open on a homepage (or set of homepages.) The option to restore the old tabs can be found either from the history page, or from an icon on the default home page. about:home

There is also a private browsing feature you may find useful

You may also need to set a home page

It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

Thanks for posting back with a solution.

I hope you found that after reading some of the linked articles mentioned in the posts above.

Your actions will have set a home page, (google, or the default home page, which itself has a Google searchbar) and you will have set Firefox to open with the homepage instead of the last set of tabs and windows.
