Hi, first time posting here.

A bit of background:

Since the COVID19 situation, lots of procedures have to be done via the Internet, I, as a student, have rarely used digital certificates but now I'm trying to send an online application for a school scholarship and having trouble with it.

In Spain, we've got what everyone calls the "digital certificate" is like a virtual ID, which I assume lots of countries have, in order to get it you need to register in the Gov. website, get some credentials and then get an appointment in an office just to get the definitive certificate. The thing is that I used to have one which expired (which I could download every time I needed it) but now they have changed the system and the new ones can only be downloaded once (and as a requirement you need to download it from the same browser, same device you got your credentials).

I registered, downloaded, and auto-installed the certificate in Android Firefox 68.8.1 on Pocophone F1 (MIUI Global 11.0.4) and there's no way to export the certificate in order to install it on PC, which is what I need. It is not even installed on the phone as I cannot use it with other browsers, and as I told you before, there's no way to get another one (just by getting an appointment at the Gov. office, which is very complicated at the moment).

My question: Is there any possibility (rooting or not) to export the certificate in .pfx or .p12 format from Firefox Android? I do really need help with this.

I tried to install some addons that were deprecated, keychains apps are not working either, searched some forums and found out that this is a thing asked to the Firefox team for a long time (?).

Any tips and help are welcome! Thanks a lot and sorry for my English :).

Just to clarify, I cannot download the certificate as it automatically installs the file into Firefox, if I do this procedure in another browser, the certificate shows as invalid.

Hi

Thank you for your question. Your English is better than my Spanish. :-)

Certificates are not stored in Firefox for Android, they are stored in Android itself.

By default there is no way to export them. I cannot recomend that you root your device as that is a very dangerious thing to do for many reasons, but you may find further information on the export process here.
