My old email address was recently deleted by Virgin. I inadevertently removed this account from Thunderbird, and in so doing I lost all my old Inbox, sent mails, and deleted mails. I really needed these, and I assume they are still on the Thinderbird server. Is there any way that I can get these back? Thanks, Sarah

There is no Thunderbird server. Thunderbird is email client software running on your computer. You can try to recover the account though. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Thunderbird_:_FAQs_:_Recover_Deleted_Account

Many thanks, Christ1. I can now see my old Inbox and Deleted emails (using BitRecover, but not in Thunderbird), but I still cannot get my old sent emails - these are the ones I actually needed. For sent files all I have is the .msf file and I don't think that I can get any files back from that.

You didn't tell what you did, and I'm not going to guess. You should follow the instructions as per the article linked above.

.msf files do not contain your mail. Mail files are the ones without a file extension, e.g. Sent. If you just want to import your sent messages, you can try using this add-on. https://addons.mozilla.org/thunderbird/addon/importexporttools/

I cannot download Unpacker - I get a WintRT error reported. Maybe my version of Windows 10 is incompatable.

What is Unpacker? You don't need to unpack anything to install add-ons into Thunderbird.

How to install add-ons. But that's pretty much what the second link above told you, anyway.

Thanks, Unpacker is the Import/Export add-on I was advised to try, but it does not work when downloaded.

Was 'Unpacker' mentioned anywhere in the instructions given to you? I don't think so. Good luck.
