I tried using my Google search bar in the upper right, and every time I press enter, nothing happens, as if the button was not working. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox several times now. I also removed an add on I installed yesterday, Ghostery (which I think may be the culprit).

I have also surfed the forums a bit looking for answers but without help. Some people indicate that Ghostery can cause this type of issue, but I have already removed it, and the problem remains. Even if it was Ghostery, some people said it was a particular Google AJAX API or something like that, which I never had on in the first place.

I tried it before, and it still doesn't appear to have worked. I installed it several times, and as best as I can figure out, searchreset should just work automatically, and then delete itself. Unless there is something I am failing to do with searchreset, it is not fixing the issue.
