Chandra the size of history is unlimited but you may have cleared it manually or if you are using windows some optimizing programs might have cleared the history to clear the space.

You can use bookmark to save the page.

Hello Chandra

There is no longer a user-settable time limit setting in Firefox 4 and newer versions for History. You can not set how long to retain History after Firefox 3.6.x. Firefox determines automatically how many pages can be kept without affecting the performance of Firefox based on your system's resources. You can see the current value via the read-only pref places.history.expiration.transient_max_pages on the about:config page. If you try to reset the value, it will automatically reset to the best calculated value so as to not degrade Firefox's performance. See --> http://kb.mozillazine.org/About:config You can reset the no longer used browser.history_expire_days* preferences from older Firefox versions to remove them on the next start. History and bookmarks are stored together in a database file named places.sqlite.

This is a longshot, but Windows may have older copies of your places data in restore points it creates automatically when certain events occur, such as Windows updates. Because reverting to an old places database will roll back any new bookmarks you have saved, you definitely should save a backup of your current database in case something goes wrong before trying this. Please note that there is no way to merge the old and new history (at least not without some SQLite database tools that I've never used).

To locate and back up your active places.sqlite database:

Open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using

Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button

Leave that window open, activate a Firefox window and Exit Firefox

Pause while Firefox finishes its cleanup, then scroll down to places.sqlite and make a copy in a safe place (e.g., Documents). While you're at it, make a copy of the entire bookmarkbackups folder, too.

Next, right-click places.sqlite, choose Properties, then the Previous Versions tab. More info: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Previous-versions-of-files-frequently-asked-questions

If you are able to restore an older version, you can start Firefox and try the Library dialog to see whether you can find what you're looking for.

To restore your current database, exit out of Firefox and copy your backup in place of the restored places.sqlite file.
