The Norton password storage file is missing -- how do I get it on version 4?
I have a "lockbox" from Norton, which has appeared on all prior versions of Firefox. It is the place that stores all my passwords and account logins. All I have to do is click on the icon, enter one password and the rest of my logins happen automatically whenever I visit a page. I cannot find it on the new FireFox 4. I'm going to go back to a prior version until this gets sorted out. It's not in the list of possible add-ons. I don't know enough to be able to figure out how to find it, let alone move it forward manually. Please help.

Symantec have made an update for their add-ons to work in Firefox 4, but they need to correct a mistake they made with their add-ons to make it work in Firefox 4.0.1. They originally updated their add-ons after quite a delay to work with Firefox 4.0 as shown here - http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Internet-Security-Norton/Firefox-4-compatibility-hotfix-is-now-available/td-p/428894
They made an error with the update in only listing it as compatible with Firefox 4.0, so they will not install on Firefox 4.0.1 and subsequent Firefox security updates. Symantec have indicated they will be releasing an update to correct their error soon. Thanks Tony -- I'll check it out. Meanwhile, it seems I cannot go back to an earlier version of Firefox... so I'm going to have to go over to internet explorer, which I detest!
All previous versions of Firefox are variable. You can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
Thanks Tony -- for some reason clicking on the version I wanted sent me off to some other listing of stuff. I went back to the original screen and re-clicked and I think I'm on my way now.
I am wondering if FireFox will send a new update once this problem has been fixed? How will I know that it's okay to move forward with the new version of FireFox? Any ideas?
It is down to Symantec, not Mozilla, to notify you of updates to Symantec products.

Okay, well, I've got Norton 360 v. 3.8.0.41 - so upgrades to Norton 360 v5 will do me no good whatsoever. I've still got over a year on the Norton subscription. Guess, I'll stick to the older version of FireFox for another year.

Firefox 3.6 isn't going to be supported for another full year, it's already 15 months old. Firefox 5 is scheduled for June and Firefox 6 for late summer, and from what I have read Firefox 4 support will end when Firefox 6 is released.
So? What am I supposed to be understanding about that? If Norton doesn't upgrade their stuff to work with FireFox and FireFox is going to continue to upgrade no matter what? And I've already spent good money on the Norton that I have -- what am I supposed to do?
Sorry, just wanted to make you aware that Firefox 3.6 isn't going to be supported with security updates for much longer.
My advice is to switch to a free (for personal use) anti-virus program, like Avira, and use a free application, like LastPass, for secure password storage, and quit using Norton.

Okay, that's a different story.... I had no idea there was free software like that out there. Is it all reliable and as effective as Norton? Even so, I would probably need to keep Norton until my prepaid subscription runs out, wouldn't I?
