How do I change the search service on the locator bar from yahoo back to google? I don't like yahoo, prefer google. Yahoo took over when Firefox last updated. Thx

Location toolbar used to have google as the search engine. Now yahoo has the helm. Don't like yahoo. Want google back. I'm talking about the URL toolbar, not the search toolbar. I was able to get that back to google. Thanks.

Check the pref keyword.URL on the about:config page.

I had this same problem. I opened up a new tab, ad typed in the address bar about:config. When it says that it might void your warranty, click "Don't worry, I'll be careful!". Then in the search bar, type "keyword.URL" right click on the only result, and click "Modify" highlight all the text in the text box, and paste in http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&source=hp&biw=1876&bih=1026&q= close that tab, and proceed to use google, because google wins at everything.
