I have used Firefox for years on a Mac. Something happened within the last few days and I don’t think it’s a Mac issue. Today I was using Firefox on an M3 Macbook Pro with 16 GB of RAM and noticed these memory issues (see the screenshots). I don’t know what’s going on. I uninstalled Firefox several times, removing all traces from the Mac Library. When I reinstall Firefox the same problem starts reappearing (although it never gets as bad as the screenshots).

I’ve then used several other browsers incl. Duckduckgo, Safari, and Brave and none of them come remotely close to that kind of memory-hogging. I don’t think it’s the extensions as I refreshed Firefox several times.

Any suggestions or ideas? I’d hate to switch from Firefox as I’ve used this for years.
