Hello, I followed this video https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/moving-thunderbird-data-to-a-new-computer and I have received an error when restarting Thunderbird. http://prntscr.com/kfodqn "Your Thunderbird profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible.

I have run into this before and ended up having to manually enter all my email information, which I have a few that covers my hobbies and personal contacts.

Thanks

Uninstalling will only uninstall the program it does not effect profiles, so it is somewhat futile.

~Make sure thunderbird is not running on either computer.

Old computer: Access Appdata\Roaming folder Copy the 'Thunderbird 'folder to eg: usb drive or external harddrive. This is the backup you are now using.

New computer Access Appdata\Roaming folder Delete the current 'Thunderbird' folder. Now use the backup. Paste the copied 'Thunderbird' folder into the 'Roaming' folder.

Start Thunderbird.

Hello and thanks for the reply. Yes, I understand what the uninstall leaves behind. Please read my first post again. Following your instructions is the same steps per the video. I am still receiving the pop-up http://prntscr.com/kfodqn

I presume Thunderbird was closed whilst you performed the migration. Let's check exactly what you have got stored in your computer and find out what's going on in your case.

New computer: Access your Appdata\Roaming folder. Confirm there is only one 'Thunderbird' folder in the 'Roaming' folder.

Access your Appdata\Roaming\Thunderbird folder. Post an image showing contents of 'Thunderbird' folder.

Open 'profiles.ini' file using a text editing program such as 'Wordpad' or 'Notepad'. Post an image showing all the contents of 'profiles.ini' file.

click on 'Profiles' folder Post image showing contents of 'Profiles' folder.
