I am actually using Firefox 53.0.2 and in order to get downloded *.tgz file automatically I needed to modify MIMETypes.rdf file, basically copying setting for downloading zipped file but set for gtz. Upgrading to Firefox 56.0.2 I could not found MIMEType.rdf file. So, How can I add an Application setting for downloading *.tgz file in Firefox 56.0.2 ? is there any equivalient file setting like MIMEType ?

Chosen solution

Current Firefox releases use handlers.json and no longer use mimeTypes.rdf to store this data.
