Lately, when I have reopened Firefox, the tabs in my sessions have been out-of-date by a day or more. The same is true for every other backup session.

I have Firefox 50.0.2 on Windows 10. Firefox was closed normally. Session Manager has been set to create a new backup every 10 minutes.

Another new issue is session restore reopening every tab at the start of my session instead of opening them only when the tab is accessed, as was the case previously. Is there any way to disable this feature?

You may have corrupt sessionstore file(s). Delete all sessionstore* files and the sessionstore-backups folder.

Type about:support in the address bar and press enter.

Under the page logo on the left side, you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To its right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.

Locate the above file. Then rename or delete it. Restart Firefox.

You can check the related prefs on the about:config page.

  • browser.sessionstore.restore_on_demand (true)
  • browser.sessionstore.restore_pinned_tabs_on_demand (false)

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

Which file in my Firefox profile folder needs to be deleted? Deleting all the backups in the "session" folder and the "sessionstore-backups" folder changed nothing.

Your question information does not list the Firefox extensions that you are using. Are you using and asking about the Session Manger add-on ?

That uses this thread as its support site:
