ff 40.0.3 only works for admin account

Since I upgraded to FF 40.0.3 I can only use it if started as admin account user. Otherwise it creates an instance in Task Manager and shows no window. Anyone any ideas on how to resolve this. I have used an earlier version, 30.0. after uninstalling 40.0.3 and that works OK.

I checked out the compatibility options and they were set as suggested. If someone knows where the ff 39 version exe file is available then that would be more up to date than 30. Latest release also behaved the same as 40.0.3 and causes same problem.

Please also note full system virus checks have been done using Kaspersky and Malwarebytes.

In anticipation of some other information /suggestions.

Thanks Tony

I understand that the compatibility settings are correct, I made sure to try this with this as the reference for discussion on sharing all apps with other types of accounts: http://superuser.com/questions/693047/enable-access-to-programs-in-guest-a...

Since it changes after updating, is the program recognized as a new one once it has been updated?

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) to see if that helps.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.
