For some reason ever since I upgraded to Windows 10, I've been having this odd issue. Firefox is my default for opening everything basically. Clicking on links outside of Firefox does not open them in firefox, i.e. skype and steam. I've set it on the Windows 10 settings, the Set Default Programs menu, I've associated file types and protocols with a program, I've uninstalled the click to call skype app on firefox because some people said that was causing issues, and none of these work. The only thing that did work was going into the Set program access and computer defaults > non-microsoft > and setting the browser to firefox. However, these doesn't even work all the time, and whenever I set it it will end up resetting and not keep the settings. It's really weird and I'm not sure how to go about fixing it.

What setting is changing? Firefox, or Windows? What are they changing to?

Note: Some software, like Advanced SystemCare with Surfing Protection, can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.
