Most of the messages are still missing after rebuilding index

I have a huge inbox (4.1gb) & while I was moving messages to other folders, suddenly Thunderbird crashed. After I reopened it, most of the messages were missing. I backed up inbox file & run rebuild index, but most messages were still missing. When I tried to recover inbox using zmeil application, I found 2332 messages & successfully recovered 9 messages per process. The trial version only allows max 9 messages recovery. Unfortunately, the writer was no longer selling this product so I'm stuck with this 9 emailrecovery repetition. Does Mozilla has a solution to this problem?

The first solution is don't have mail folders larger than 4Gb. At least until the developers get the bugs out of larger ones.

Have you tried importing the mail from the file using the import export tools add-on. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/importexporttools/

Hi Matt, thank you for your reply. I just tried the add-on but it only imported 30 messages. It should be around 2300 emails as I could see those using zmeil application. I'm still recovering 9 messages per process, around 13 times per day & got 700 messages recovered so far.
