Hello,

I just recently went from Brave browser back to the old days on Firefox but there is one thing that I miss and I cant find any information anywhere about that when I opened new tabs on Brave it didnt switch to the new tab directly. Sometimes I wanna open alot of links from a page but its a real hazzle here when I need to go back to the old tab again everytime. Is there a setting for that anywhere?

Kind regards

My quickest answer would be to middle click the link with your mouse wheel if you're using a mouse or by doing a two finger click if you're using a track pad.

You can also change your tab settings by opening the menu in the top right corner and clicking on settings. The second option on the General page is Tabs. There are lots of options there but what your looking for should be the third one, "When you open a link, image or media in a new tab, switch to it immediately". I leave that off too, I find it tiring to have to keep switching before I'm ready.

These prefs on the about:config page control whether links are opened with a left-click in the background or get focus: You can toggle the default action for opening a link in the background by holding down the Shift key when you use Ctrl plus left-click or middle-click a link.

  • browser.tabs.loadInBackground (normal links)
  • browser.tabs.loadDivertedInBackground (javascript and external links)
  • browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInBackground (bookmarks)
