Followed the instructions. Newsgroup entry appears in the account list but doesn't connect to anything. Am I missing some settings or something.

Is news.mozilla.org an account in the Folder Pane? I selected it in the FP, then clicked 'Manage newsgroup subscriptions'. typed support in the search box, then checked mozilla.support.firefox, and downloaded the articles. TB 68.6 32b/W10. news.mozilla.org on port 119, connection security = none.

Yes it is an account in the folder pane. I'm getting a 'failed to connect' with the server message when I go to 'subscribe'. Have temporarily disabled my firewall, but no success. There must be something in settings that I have wrong. Or maybe not, but thanks for the prompt reply and will wait for a further response.

I don't know if security/AV programs have the same (negative) effect on news accounts as with mail accounts. See the attached picture of my Server Settings.

Got it going. Had to first enter news.mozilla.org before I could subscribe to support.firefox.org. Everything working smoothly now. Thanks for your help. Good to see there are still people dedicated to the support of mozilla and firefox. I was a Netscape Champion volunteer back in the day myself.
