Hello, Thunderbird suddenly marked all my messages as read (not after re-opening or so). How can I undo this? I would like to get back to the earlier situation where I can see again all my messages that were unread. Thanks in advance for your help.

Since Version 115.12.2 update Released June 22, 2024 can receive but not send emails, fails because of outgoing server times out. 'The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.virginmedia.com timed out. Try again.' Virginmedia have tried without sucess to resolve and have informed me Thunderbird installation is corrupted.

As of Sunday, Thunderbird can no longer reach my ATT server to download email. It has behaved for ten to fifteen years. Last time someone at ATT fixed it. I have been on the phone or on screen with ATT most of my waking hours since Sunday. (In the process I lost my internet, my landline, my cell connection, etc.) Everything is restored except the connection between Thunderbird and ATT. Everyone thinks changing my password will do it. Done it four times. It gets me into the ATT mail. I have replaced the password in Thunderbird settings with it to no avail. Is there anything you can think of? Not only is Thunderbird more attractive than ATT, I have thirty years of mail boxes there, a continuation from Eudora. I will appreciate your wisdom.

Hello, I cannot login to IMAP server on my Thunderbird mailbox - each time I receive a communicate: "Logowanie na serwerze ssl0.ovh.net za pomocą nazwy użytkownika „gallab@gallab.info” się nie powiodło." and there are choice options: "Spróbuj ponownie", "Wprowadź nowe hasło" i "Anuluj". I removed passwords stored in Thunderbird password storage, restarted PC and write down right password the problem with login still exists, i.e. login fails and there are still above choice options. Can you please explain/investigate/rectify the fact that everything has disappeared from all the Thunderbird folders (In, Draft, Sent etc) on my laptop. I am jenny @davidbrownsundials.com and if I was not able to use my husband (david@davidbrownsundials.com),s laptop and the gmail account I use on my mobile, I would be totally stuck. I can write emails but no evidence remains. The best I get is a quick flash then everything disappears again. Help! I would be very grateful if this massive problem can be solved. I've tried searching for this very issue on the forums, but saw that there were none. Hopefully, this thread might help me and any others in the same situation.

One of my users started experiencing an issue where, whenever they try replying to certain email chains, the attached error message pops up, and it does not allow them to reply to the thread.

I tried troubleshooting with the user in my free time, and these were our findings:

- It starts happening after the thread is over 5 messages long. - They are the only one experiencing the issue out of all my other users. - We tried sending with and without attachments and changed some wording in the email to no avail. - We removed and played around with the people in the "CC" and "To" fields. - Thunderbird is up to date.

The only fix so far is to just start a new thread and continue communicating on there.

Would appreciate any assistance.

Since the last update I am experiencing the following error message:

From Firefox if I click on any mail to link it tries to launch Thunderbird, even though it is already open, and I get that error dialogue.

I am unable to click any mailto links at all now with this latest update. 115.12.2 (64-bit) Release notes Mozilla Thunderbird Flatpak en-USthunderbird-flatpak - 1.0

Does anyone have any extra information that might help?

Currently I am having to right click and copy the email address, then Alt Tab over to Thunderbird and create a new message, and then paste the email address in, which is a nightmare.

Hello! Since I couldn't find help in the forums, I will create a new question. For about a year now the PC at my work will not open mailto-links correctly. There is no account to select from, the subject has a lock-symbol. The receiver's address is correct though (I replaced it with "address" for the screenshot). This PC is the only one I know with that problem and only with external mailto-links. If I click on an email address inside a mail, it opens it correctly. Thunderbird version 115.11.1 (32-Bit), Win 10

It's pretty impractical, so I am hoping for help. Thank you!

Unable to fix the side by side error, my only option may be to re-install Thunderbird or migrate to Outlook.

My question is whether its feasible to re-install Thunderbird and still preserve my old profile and emails. I haven't done any backups of Thunderbird but do still have all my emails on the server.

I recently discovered that the content -- text, images, attachments -- of all of the emails in my Thunderbird Inbox, going back several years, with the exception of those I have received since July 2, 2024, have vanished. The header fields remained -- "From", "Subject", etc. -- but the content pane for each email is a total blank. So I right-clicked on the Inbox folder, then "Properties", then "Repair Folder", and the result was that Thunderbird then deleted even the header fields of those thousands of emails from before July 2, 2024. So now, there's no trace of them, not even the header fields. Before July 2, 2024, there were more than 9,200 emails in the Inbox folder. Now (July 9, 2024) there are just over 100. Fortunately, none of the other folders seem to have been affected -- only the Inbox. So all the emails I transferred to those folders over more than 25 years are still there. Does anyone have a clue as to why Thunderbird would randomly delete almost everything in my Inbox, yet leave the contents of all the other folders intact (even the "Sent" folder)? Did Thunderbird do an automatic update on July 2, 2024 that may have caused this disaster? Is there any way I can get those emails back? I use a desktop PC running Windows 10. Thank you.

Hi, I'm using Thunderbird 115.4.1 and Windows 8.1 Pro. Ever since the Supernova update, TB crashes pretty much daily (up to 3x a day). I turned off auto-updates as soon as I found out how to, since everything was so confusing and didn't work the way I was used to. Now I'm afraid to do any more updates since I don't want a whole bunch of other things to get screwed up. I have learned to kind of work around the problem areas, though it's frustrating. But I don't want to spend another 10-15 hours trying to fix new problems. Any suggestions? I can't seem to find any information about people who have had this crashing problem and then had it resolved through an update. Thanks

Hi I have just set up Thunderbird on a new laptop. All installed and working. The only thing I can't seem to customise is the columns on the message list, specifically the column headings aren't showing.

There are only 2 columns, on the left hand side is the sender and underneath the description and on the right the time and underneath the star.

I have matched the settings that I can find with the setup on my old PC, but nothing seems to change the message list view.

Any help gratefully received...
