By default, when we open a new tab, we get a table of tabs showing previously opened websites. I'm aware this can be changed in about:config, but why isn't this available under the normal user options? Nearly everyone I have spoken with thinks the history on new tabs is an idiotic idea. Whoever came up with this must be working overtime to try to add unneeded ideas into an already fine browser. Your time would be better spent supporting a 64-bit version on the standard release channel. This is where Internet Explorer shines.

Your reply doesn't really answer my question. I'm well aware that this can be changed through the configuration screen. What I'm asking is WHY does Mozilla insist on cramming useless mods into Firefox as defaults? There's no easy way to change this for the average user that doesn't understand how to use about:config. This should be a setting under TOOLS/OPTIONS instead.
