after im asked to download download box is empty
after i'm asked to download something the download box comes up but there isn't anything in the download box,it's empty. there's no file or run option

Maybe there could be some unwanted plugins interfering with your downloads.

Check and tell if its working.
My problem is similar.I have the option set and have the save destination as my desktop.When I download a file,the downloads window opens and shows the download in progress.When the download finishes,it disappears from the downloads window immediately,but does appear on my desktop.This is a new behavior in FF 8.0.1

Cor-el Thank you so much.That solved my problem.I think I changed that option when I was trying to figure out how to save my browsing history for 7 days without having to keep cookies on exit.
