When dwnldg update for firefox on mac, I get an error mess. saying I don't have proper permissions to download some items. I am on my admin. acct. and there should be no restrictions. Any ideas as to what I can do to complete and install the update?

I can get 99% of the download of the update for firefox, but while installing on my mac I get a pop up error message saying that I dont have permissions to download and install some items. I called Apple and they said if I could download all the Apple updates and other software updates without problem, then it is probably a Mozilla glitch. I would keep my current version of Firefox, but it keeps giving me a popup to update it. Any ideas about how to fix it?

  • Download a new copy of the Firefox program: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html
  • Move the current Firefox application to the Trash to do a clean reinstall.
  • Install the new version that you have downloaded.
