On samsung.com, under my account, I click on write a review for one of my products. The page to write review will not load. Open the same page in IE 11, and at the bottom there is a popup which states, "Only secure content is displayed" and there is a button to "display all content". After clicking show all contect, the review page will load in IE.

Question is, where in Firefox do I see those same setting that is preventing unsecure data from being seen as I see in IE? I've tried turning things off in Firefox settings and NOTHING seems to allow this page to load? I'm not running FF in it's new mode because that makes my entire browsing session completely worse and using sometimes almost 2 gb ram..NOT HAPPENING!!! I mean it's a review page so how unsecure could it possibly be?

You can see a special padlock at the left end of the location/address bar.

  • a padlock with a strike through means that mixed active content is blocked.
  • a padlock with an exclamation mark attached means that mixed passive content (e.g. images) is present, but not blocked.

The shield icon, previously used for mixed active content, is now used for Tracking Protection.

You can check the Web Console for more detail about what content in blocked.

Firefox 42+ has a Tracking Protection feature that is enabled by default in Private Browsing mode. Firefox can show a shield icon at the left end of the location/address bar that some content is blocked by Tracking Protection, click the shield icon for more information.

You can disable this feature in "Options/Preferences -> Privacy" or via the about:privatebrowsing page that get when you open a New Private Window.

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy: "Use Tracking Protection in Private Windows"

You can set this pref to true on the about:config page to see more Tracking Protection choices in "Options/Preferences -> Privacy".

  • privacy.trackingprotection.ui.enabled

Please explain " I'm not running FF in it's new mode " ?

uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(x86) Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. (Note: This should be Pinned and run Weekly, If never done below expect 10's of gig's) Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do :

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 57.0.2 with a Full Version Installer

For ram issues : Please : Go to the Firefox 3 Bar Menu --> Help ? --> Troubleshooting Information Page and take a look in the Accessibility section if accessibility is set to "true" there. if yes, go to the Firefox 3 Bar Menu --> Options --> Privacy & Security panel and under Permissions check the setting to Prevent Accessibility Services from accessing your browser.

Monitor in Task Manager. Should stay below 2 gigs. If excessive then do below and monitor and change if need to.

Go the 3 Bar Menu then Options --> General --> Performance and untick everything. change the recommended size lower then see how it runs. Note: 1 = No Multiprocessor = slow again. Try 2 Restart Firefox after making these changes please.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

What's the address of the page where you are trying to use the review feature?

If you don't care about the security of your connection to the site, does it help if you edit the address from

https://something

to

http:// something

(i.e., remove the "s")

Sometimes the site requires HTTPS and Firefox will switch the address back.

The issue was resolved using the lock icon, which I guess I had forgotten all about.

Although I went and specifically told FF to allow images to load on this page, which was what the msg said was causing the problem, FF still won't load that page unless I completely Disable Protection for Now?

Seems that function does not work correctly.

NORMALLY, you do not need to disable protection for mixed content to view images. By default, Firefox allows images retrieved on an insecure HTTP address in a secure HTTPS page and shows a little yellow warning triangle on the lock. By contrast, Firefox blocks insecure active content and shows the green lock indicating no insecure content posting a threat to private data.

Therefore, it is suspicious and troubling that you need to suspend protection on a well-run site (okay, maybe I shouldn't assume that). To investigate further, could you check this setting:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful or accepting the risk.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste mix and pause while the list is filtered

(3) If the security.mixed_content.block_display_content preference is bolded and "modified" or "user set" to true, I suggest double-clicking it to restore the default value of false (or you can right-click > Reset)

If that was normal, then there is a problem with the design of the page.

Just checked it and it is set to false. Must just be Samsung website review feature.
