I have a problem with "url not valid and cannot be loaded" Also the accuweather site on my toolbar will not load,all I get is a note sying "connection error".The google homepage I have always used is blank when firefox starts.

I had a problem where firefox crashed whilst closing the bbc iplayer website yesterday evening,I reebooted firefox and all seemed to be in order untill this morning.I cannot use the google default webpage but can use the uk version.When trying to troubleshoot the problem I get the "url not valid message"

  • "Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
  • "Remove the Cookies" from sites that cause problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Thank you for your help, The problem was caused by the latest version of "accuweather". Restoring the previous version did the trick!
