One fine day I added mobile and that was possible to add to Facebook! From there I was able to add new password, two factor authentication. And Bingo!

Are you saying the browser is not saving your login data, or you are being logged out when you close the browser?

I am saying that my login credentials are not correctly saved in Firefox manager somehow. My facebook is loggedin though ie session is saved.

Are you having the same issue on other websites? Do you use a Password Manager other than what came with the browser?

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.

Warning ! ! This will log you out of sites you're logged in to. You may also lose any settings for that website.

If there is still a problem,

Start Firefox using Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

While you are in Troubleshoot(Safe) mode;

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox. Since this feature was added to Firefox it has gradually improved but there are still a few glitches.

Hi MSolar, Facebook uses data in cookies and/or local storage to recognize that your Firefox has an open session on the server. Facebook doesn't actually put the password there -- that would be extremely irresponsible -- so there's no way to extract the password from the data in Firefox. You might need to reset your password if you can't remember it, although, I guess, it's not urgent if you can still use FB for now.

cannot reset or do anything, like add new email. No email reaches registered email from this account. Other facebook account does sent email to it's own associated email account. It is hacked. they are running a page that I didnot created and Facebook support is sleeping as usual.

lets see how much long it lasts...

Detail like websites remembering you and log you in automatically is stored in a cookie.

You can use these steps to make a website recognize and remember you.

  • create a cookie allow exception with the proper protocol (https:// or http://) to make a website remember you

You can check that you aren't clearing important cookies.

  • using "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" keeps cookies with an allow exception
  • using "Clear history when Firefox closes" to clear cookies clears all cookies including cookies with an allow exception you may want to keep
  • clearing "Site Preferences" clears exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, and software installation and exceptions for passwords and other website specific data
  • Settings -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data: "Manage Exceptions"
