Seriously!! I have been trying to update to the latest version of Firefox since 47.0. Even though I have selected automatic updates and that is what was happening up to version 47.0 it has stopped working. Firefox used to just update itself everytime I opened it but now I keep getting a pop up window saying unable to install latest version (several times a day). I can download a new version but not install it. I sent feedback saying I could not install the latest version and the reply I received was that I needed to install the latest version. Any help would be appreciated.

What happens when you try installing the full version?

Are you using this link? Download Firefox For All languages And Systems {web link}

Thanks for the advice but I have already tried this. I tried downloading the full version from the home screen and that didn't work and then I went to the link for all languages and systems and tried downloading from there and got the same result.

Version 50.0 downloads and opens but when I close Firefox and reopen it it is still version 47.0.

I would be interested to know why it is no longer searching for and automatically downloading updates.

It could be your protection program(s) are the problem. As a test, disable them.

Did you install the Firefox 50.0.

Also possible that you have both 47 and 50 installed and whatever method you are using to open Firefox is pointing to 47 and not 50.
