Ok, so here goes. I had to do a fresh install of windows 7 and was not able to back anything up before doing so because of a Trojan. After reinstalling Firefox on the new OS I attempted to get my bookmarks back from my sync account that's connected to my android phone. It let me on the sync account after resetting the recovery key (there is no way to view it on Firefox for android) I click sync now and now none of my bookmarks or history is syncing from the server to my PC. Is sync a one way street? From pc to phone but not the other way around? I really need these bookmarks... I do have root access to the phone and looked in data>data>org.mozilla.firefox>databases but I do not know how I would go about importing the database data to my PC. Is it possible to either 1. sync my bookmarks from android to pc or 2. Copy and import the database file manually? Thank you.

If you've reset the sync key then that action has removed all data stored on the Sync server, so you can't even recover it with the (correct) previous sync key.
The sync key is only used locally to encrypt your data before it is uploaded to the sync server, so it is vital to have a backup of the sync key.

It sure would have been nice if it told me that it deleted 1000 bookmarks before I reset the key. I tried the synckey app, but since I have firefox 16.0.2 on my android its not compatible. I have root access and the bookmarks ARE still showing in the device, which in theory means that I could access the bookmarks file, but I am unaware if the bookmark data is encrypted on the phone or if its even readable on firefox for PC. If you know of a way I can do this let me know, otherwise thank you for your quick response and time.

The phone bookmarks are not compatible with desktop Firefox. If you recover browser.db from the Firefox for Android that file contains your bookmarks. However it requires SQLite to read the file.
