I downloaded the newest version of Firefox two days ago and ever since I've been having a few problems. It crashes here and there, loads pages slowly or doesn't load them at all. If I try to use a drop down menu, it won't highlight my option like "April" I have to use my up & down arrow keys. When I'm on a forum and I want to add a link in my post it won't let me. I do like I always do and copy, paste, highlight the link, click the link option, when I get the pop up I copy, paste the link there also and click enter but it doesn't make it a clicky. So when someone wants to go to my link, they have to copy, paste it into there browser. It also freezes sometimes. HELP!!!!

This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

  • Use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window to disable all extensions.
  • Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

In Firefox 4 you can use one of these to start in Safe mode:

  • Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • Hold down the Shift key while double clicking the Firefox desktop shortcut (Windows)
